Healing Fibroids A Doctors Guide to a Natuaral Cure by Dr. Warshowsky Book Review: Natural ways to reverse Uterine Fibroids; The role of diet and supplements in reversing fibroids; hysterectomy preventionp;what foods contribute to the cell growth of uterine fibroids

Healing Fibroids-A Doctors Guide to a Natural Cure by Dr. Warshowsky with Elena Oumano; Book Review, All Rights Reserved

Dr. Warshowsky’s Book Healing Fibroids- A Doctors’ Guide to a Natural Cure covers the many options women have to prevent hysterectomy

Since over 2,000 women die a year from hysterectomy exploring the other options is important for women.

According to Dr. Warshowsky supplements, diet and exercise help women to correct the hormone imbalance that leads to heavy periods/excessive bleeding.

On page 96 the author notes how garlic shrinks the blood supply to the fibroids.

Page 81 notes that artificial coloring may cause cell growth in some women. Red dye

appears to be a particular culprit in excessive cell growth.

On page 206 doctor reviews the web of hormones and how the endocrine systems,

“speaks” to the nervous system and the immune system.

Fibroids and Stress:

The author notes that women when stressed are more likely to develop fibroids, because the production of cortisol (required by the body to respond to stress) robs the body of it’s natural progesterone.

Natural progesterone increases the body’s tumor fighting ability, via the up regulation of the tumor suppressor gene p53.

Reviewer’s note: Natural Progesterone is NEVER to be confused with the synthetic progesterone, Progestin 1. The Women’s Health Initiative Study 2 was stopped because too many women on synthetic progestin’s and estrogens developed cancer, blood clots, strokes or heart attacks. The report of this study was carried in the in the July, 2002 issue of JAMA. (Journal of the America Medical Association)

Heavy Periods, Flooding and Herbs:

The doctor notes on page 129 how Bromelain 3 (pineapple- the 13th most widely used herbal medicine in Germany) and Quercitin 3 (red onions, raspberry, and citrus, and tomato, cranberry) prevent clotting.

Heavy Periods (flooding) may be prevented by the use of herbs, Yarrow and Sheppard’s purse. Dr. W. related the experience of a patient who was able to reverse (page 143)

A very heavy period with the use of these herbs.

Cancer Scare and the AMAS Test for the Detection of Cancer Cells:

Often women are frightened into hysterectomy with cancer fears. However, with the AMAS Test ( an FDA approved test) to detect cancer anywhere in the body. Cancer produces a protein that is detectable with the AMAS Test.

Dr. Warshowsky uses this test to help rule out cancer in his patients so they may safely avail themselves of the natural cures for fibroids and fibroid associated problems like flooding/excessive periods.

Environmental Estrogens and Fibroids:

On page 208 Dr. Warshowsky notes that Environmental Estrogens (pesticides, plastics etc.) bind more tightly to the hormone receptor sites – thus exerting a strong and inapproiate effects for a longer time on the hormone receptor sites.

Dr. Warshowsky explains on page 209 the long term impact of these Environmental Estrogens (Xenoestrogens) on “serious” male hormone dependent such as prostate and testicular cancer.

Page 213 relates the experience of a women poisoned by insecticides and pesticides.

These common household, garden and yard chemicals increase a women’s exposure to

to the environmental estrogens that bind to the hormone receptors sites with a powerful, lasting and inapprioate influence.

Increased Bioflavoids Consumption Decreased Flooding Heavy Periods:

On page 136 Dr. Warshowsky notes that when a women increases her consumption of bioflavonoids  (citrus and green tea) she may reduce her bleeding and heavy periods/flooding. Pages 152-162 discuss the herbs, supplements and vitamins that prevent, reduce fibroids.

Vitamin A and the Prevention of Cervical Cancer:

On pages 122,123 Dr. W. follows the research done with Vitamin A and the prevention and reversal of cervical cancer.

B-Complex Vitamins help the liver to dump excess estrogens:

Dr. W. notes Vitamin B Complex helps the liver to dump the excess and powerful estrogens that feed fibroid tumor growth. While the entire B Complex is essential to the assimilation of any B vitamin. B-Vitamins work like a symphony, therefore the entire B-Complex is important to make any of the B vitamins effective. It is the B-6 in particular that helps the liver dump the environmental estrogens that stimulate the cell growth that create fibroids

Under Active Thyroid and Gynaecological Health.

Dr. Warshowsky notes on Page 66 that a, “sluggish thyroid” may be the cause of poor gynaecological health. He cites some of the symptoms of an underactive thyroid including “ chicken skin”; small bumps on the back of the arm that feel like goose bumps ( pertopic folliculitis); because of an underactive thyroid a women is unable to process vitamin A therefore, one to the symptoms of low thyroid is the “chicken skin” bumps.

The author also notes another possible symptom of low thyroid disease is sub-normal underarm temperatures for 5 days as detailed in Dr. Broda Barnes Book Hypothyroidism: The Unsuspected Illines. “The patient takes her underarm temperature over 5 days and the temperature is less that 97.4, a hypothyroid state, or underactive thyroid is suspected.”

Dr. Warshowsky’s Formula for Optimum Health covered on Page 67.

“1-Promote unconditional love of one’s body.

2-Address the needs of  body, mind and spirit.

  3-Integrate conventional and complementary therapies

4-Balance attention to relief of symptoms and treatment of root causes.”

Reduced Risk of Breast Cancer with increased levels of the weak pregnancy estrogen Estriol  ( E3):

On page 42,  Dr. W notes the research that women with the highest concentration of the weak pregnancy estrogen Estriol ( E3) have a reduced incidence of breast cancer.

Dr. Warshowsky appears to have pulled together many medical references and his own experience which could potentially save the lives of 2,000 women a year and help another 700,000 women avoid hysterectomies.

This book is well written, well documented and easy for all readers to follow and may help to eliminate some of the 1,917 hysterectomies performed daily in the USA.
